I had posted awhile back asking if anyone with a Metz or an E3 had a tire go flat on the road (while moving) The 402s have a BEEFY sidewall. Probl explains the harder ride. BUT in the case of a flat, they are practically runflats. Safer in my opinion. Has anyone had a similar experience w/these other tires.
I had my first rear E3 go completely flat on the highway and it remained stable. The bead stayed intact, too, and all I felt was the woozy sensation you'd expect of a tire that had lost all of its air. Remember that the E3 was originally designed for Gold Wings and other big touring bikes.

I just got E3's for my 06 Ultra. Put them on myself.
Just today I rode from NE North Carolina to Roanoke, VA. They're smooth as silk! One good test: the high rise bridge on I64 near Norfolk, VA. It has the dreaded steel grating. The E3's wander way less than the stock 402's. No idea on mileage yet, that report will have to wait.
For HD leaning angle and if you do lean stay with 402 or Pirelli Night Dragons E3s are good on tar snake but keep in mind those are more suitable for Goldwing's lean angle and don't handle very good in extreme lean angle at a very very slow speed.You can not do those cop training turning skills with E3s.

I respectfully disagree. I ground the rider floorboards on my '07 SG down to a razors edge cornering with the E3s. Much more comfortable doing that on them than the OEMs.
