How loud is a fat cat with a quiet baffle will I get tickets going through towns.
Who knows............never seen anyone get a ticket for loud pipes.....and I would be the first because mine is LOUD!!! The fat cat isnt loud with the performance baffle let alone the quiet (they wrap it and call it quiet).....baffle.....but yours ears aren't mine either..
How loud it is depends on your motor. On a stock motor it's moderate and very controllable with your right hand. Add cams and compression and any exhaust gets louder. It's still about how far you twist the throttle. My Fat Cat doesn't get me tickets. At idle it's almost as quiet as stock pipes. Grab a handfull of throttle and it might attract a little attention.
Some towns near me do ticket for loud pipes, but they base it on your right hand control. The sound of a V Twin rumbling by at dang near any level will pass, but when groups start rapping their pipes at night is what gets the fuzz's attention.
In my opinion it wasn't that loud at all. I changed mine out to the standard baffle which was more to my liking. Even with the louder baffles though I think you'd have to run it wide open to get a ticket but that depends alot on how biker friendly the location is.
Don't know about the quiet baffle.I've got the wrapped perforated which is the middle of the road as far as db level. Not worried about a ticket but it will get to you without ear protection if your in the saddle all day.Well worth the pain as far as performance goes.
I had true duals before I going to a Fatcat and they were a lot louder during normal riding. I have the perforated baffle because I have cams. When you get on it it makes some noise.
