I like the RZ but I also have my eye on the new Harley Hammock seat that has the built in rider and passenger suspension system. Not sure which way I'll go. It would be nice to ride a few hundred miles on each before dropping that kind of coin.
I bought one ,1 bladder didnt work right out of the box the one on the back of the drivers seat.Sent it back to lakeshore and they sent it back saying it works fine.It still dont work ,I would gladly pay the 20% discount to have a working seat and thats after waiting almost 2 months. But other than that it seems very comfortable.
My uncle just bought one and it's HUGE! I can't deny that it is comfy but it pushes me a little too far forward for my tastes.
He absolutely LOVES it,so that is what's important.
The last two trips he was complaining about his stock seat at the first fuel stop!
I think this should remedy that problem
Seats are like women.
Find one that works for you and enjoy!!
Yes, the seat is HUGE, but it does not push me forward at all. It does raise the seat height though. Now if I fill the back part of the seat up completely, I will move forward a little, when you sat on his, it could be how he has it adjusted.
UPS brought my new Road Zeppelin today, put it on and just my luck, when I hit the center button to pump up the riders back it just makes a clicking sound. Won't pump up the seat. The front button and the passenger button work fine. Makes me leary of how long the compressor will last. It's going back and I think I'm going with the Hammock seat.
I lucked out and found a new one on Ebay for half price shortly after we bought our '06. One of the keys to comfort is spreading out your weight across the seat, and the extra width of the Zep does just that. I did a 1000 mile Iron Butt ride without any problems, even with an arthritic hip.
Drawback: The passenger part of the seat is quite a bit higher than the stock. My lady likes that, as she can easily see above my helmet, but you'll definitely feel the difference.
Some people don't like the looks of the wider seat. Wait until they get arthritis....looks don't mean so much then.
Long before I get arthritis I spent too many years "looking Kool" and did a pretty good job at it. Now I don't give a chit if I like it I will do it. Besides even Kool people coment on how comfortable it looks.

My used bike came with the RZ. I talked to the original owner and he told me it was put on when he took delivery. 40K miles now and it works fine. Don't give up on it over a little problem. Wiggle some connectors and try it again. Every once in a while mine doesn't respond on the first push, I am sure it is because sometimes I go for a month without inflating it and it gets some oxidation on the switch contacts. It is very comfortable with no air and I only use it if I start feeling a hot spot. My wife is 6'2" and if she pumps it up all the way I can feel the difference in the CG. She usually rides short runs so I leave the ACC switch off and she can't pump it up. If we are on a longer run and she complains I will turn it on.
When I first got the bike we both pumped it up all the time I guess for the novelty of it but it does change slow speed handling and you don't need to pump it up without hot spots. If I ever get a new bike or this one wears out I will buy a new one.
Went back out to the Bike(now CSC Trike conversion)and tried it again. Same results. Don't think its a loose connection. Only one connection you can get to and 2 of the 3 adjustments work. You can hear the compressor run and seat pumps up but when you push the middle switch the compressor just chatters and does not pump. I don't know how It's designed but It looks like it has 3 separate compressors or a relay that's not switching because 2 pump up and 1 don't. the switch makes connection every time you push it. Looks like it's just a defective seat. If there is one out there I'LL GET IT!!! Thanks anyway, It's going back.

I have a trike and love my RZ.Two wheeler riders may not because of the width. Some say legs gotta be long enough and inner thighs can get chaffed.Best seat ever for me.
