I am looking to change to a shorter windshield for the summer but still want some protection. What do you recommend?

It really depends how much protection you want, I find 6" - 10" is about the height that looks good and still offers protection. I'm currently running a 6" and it's borderline. It also depends on how tall you are and the type of seat you have on the bike unless of course it's stock. You'll probably find that you'll buy at least 2-3 sheilds before you find the one that suits.

Stock seat and a short guy @ 5'7". I just want to see just over it. So I am guessing 6".

I'd recommend getting a windshield that has a recurve where the top half inch or so of the shield points almost strait up. This will help a shorter shield blow all or most of the wind over your head. I got mine from Long Ride Shields and couldn't be more pleased.

I have tried a few different brands and sizes and am very happy with my 2 windvest shields. I have a 8" and a 9". Love them both!

I bought a Cee Bailieys 10" (I think..Might be a 9), and really like it. DOT rated too.
