Default help identify this wire

ok, forward of the battery I found this wire. It's a red wire that runs up into a tightly bundled wire harness. both the male and female portion of the connector is attached...basically...the wire itself got pulled out. So it's red, its a power line. no fuse on the wire. nothing close by with just a wire running off it. all my accessories work. any one have any idea.

edit/ bike is an 07 ultra.
so it sounds like it might be an accessory connection. so in the am, I'll test it for power and cycle thru the accessory switch.

If I am not mistaken that is a spare power accessory lead. You can hook up any power accessory to it but keep in mind it is direct and does not need the ignition to be on to be live. Suggest you fuse it and put a switch on it if you are going to use it. My wife's Deluxe had the same lead.

Would help to know what bike you have. Do you have an accessory switch? That's what it's for.

Wing rdr is correct there it is a power supply that is a constant. I used it for hooking up six switches on the bars to switch on and off led accent lights oil cooler fan and fog lights on the front.

They call it a B+ wire. Harley even sells an adapter so you can hook more that one device to it!
More info here.

I thought that was the wire for the optional muffler bearing sensor.

You are correct, it's an accessory plug. It's there to plug in the heated seats, or Road Zep seat, or whatever you want to hook up to the acc. I don't think a fuse is needed as it is already connected to the acc fuse on the panel.

pretty sure that wire is to be used on the oil level sensors for the turn signals...have seen a few people try to hook it up to the dirty chrome sensor. it is way to sensitive for that and they end up spending their riding time polishing the bike!
