Update on my accident
Well, it's been over a week now and I'm doing pretty good. Found out I had two hairline fractures in my ankle, and a very small fracture at the end of my Tibia. They didn't have to put on a cast, just a walking boot which I was very glad to hear cause now I can get around pretty good.
The bike has minimal damage; replace left engine guard, left saddle bag latch, left speaker cover, and tour pak lid. Insurance is covering everything. Other than that, there was no further damage, so Me and the bike came out pretty good. My Skid Lid helmet did it's job, left side was all scarred up, but it stayed on and protected my head. My armored mesh jacket saved me from any major road rash, just 2 small burns on knee and hand (forgot my gloves that day).
My wife said she didn't care how good they fixed the bike, she wants me to get a new one with ABS, so we went looking and she found a 2011 Ultra Limited with 103 cubic inch, heated grips and basically the works and said why don't you trade for one of these?
What else could I say but "Yes Dear

Everybody ride safe this summer, I'll be back in the saddle in about 5 weeks.

Glad to hear your gear did its job and your injuries are not worse and that damages are covered. Heal up quick and enjoy that Limited. You better treat your Mrs. right, sounds like she's a keeper.

I was having back pains that we eventually deduced that were stemming from my Nightster. We went to the dealer and she OK'd be getting the SG you see in my sig. No hesitation, didn't even once ask me to give up riding.

Glad your not too badly messed up. And always it's good to know the bike was able to be saved.
Heck if it wasn't for the injury factor, I keep hearing of guys wrecking their bikes and getting a new one out of the deal .... Hmmmm.
