ive only heard some chatter (on my work motorcycle) when it was COLD outside (sub freezing temps) and the bike sat for a while (about 8 hours) outside.... and that was due to thick oil not cycling through the motor as fast as it does when warm/normal temps.
other than that- ive NEVER had ANY motorcycle may any strange noises after it was warmed up.... due to the temps.
I think its was because of the cold weather, but havent been able to ride since do to snow now [:@] Now I am going to be wondering all winter[sm=confused06.gif] But like I said my friends 05 was doing the same thing but not as bad, but his is older and has syn 3 in all holes mine just has factory oil which is not synthetic. Any of you guys want to test your bikes in cold weather????[sm=scared09.gif][sm=smiley32.gif]
Hey daryl88, or should I say 96? I,m in Alberta too. Thought I would get a ride in on Saturday but snow came early to the Calgary area. Congrats on the new ride. Great choice. I put 12000 Km on mine this summer and absolutely no issues whatsoever. Can't comment on the noises, hopefully just need to work the bugs out. Which dealer did you get it from?
Yep, we get good riding from July 16th to July 28th, which is 12 full days. On a good year it might even extend into August. That's why our bikes last us for 25 or 30 years around here.
Believe it or not break-in for the '07 is not to exceed 4000 rpm for the first 50 miles and then not to exceed 5000 rpm up to 500 miles. In other words, run the crap out of it.

Oops!!
I guess !!!!!I don't think mine's seen 4000 RPM more than a dozen times or so, and only for a few seconds. Can't say it's ever seen 5000!
