Default Installed the Split Vision Mirrors

Installed the HD Split Vision Mirrors on my new Ultra Classic. Really like them - the stems are a bit longer than the stock mirrors, so I see less of my arm and more of the road. The convex split portion takes a minute to get used to, but offers an expanded view of what's beside and behind you. Nice upgrade....

I also installed them and found them to be an OK value. Did improve rear vision, but the stalks were the same length as my factory stalks. Had to adjust my controls upward to get the rear view correct, the mirrors did not rotate upwards enough on the stalks to see anything but the ground. Once I got that done, am happy with the product.

I have a friend who has them and he was nice enough to let me try them and I wasn't impressed. I was hoping they'd show more of what was "beside" me while going down the freeway and that wasn't the case. The angle of the convex mirror is such that a car coming up my right or left side would disappear from the convex at about the same time it would for the normal mirror so it was pretty much useless. I tried adjusting the mirrors in and out to see if it made a difference and it didn't. If I could adjust the convex part independent of the mirror as a whole, it would be fine but as it is, I'm "really" glad I didn't buy the darn things first. It's a shame really as I do like the look of them.

Oh well........

Steve R.

I just sold a set of these. I really liked them, but I have gone to the dark side (black bars, levers, cables, controls...). They aren't available in black.
