Thanks everyone.. For those that have tried the transition lenses.. Do they get very dark in sunlight, and completely clear during night? (no tint at all).
I just switched to goggles this past year. Never wore 'em before, never ever thought I ever would. Now, I won't go back, seriously.
I got mine at the stealership (Harley brand), transition lenses. They seem to transition just fine. I like 'em and will never ride any highway miles without them ever again.
However, around town, I will wear sunglasses, but not on the open road - goggles only.
I wear Bobster Bugeyes, very comfortable plus they came with three sets of lenses, dark tint, orange and clear. Beats the need to carry more than one set of goggles around, just keep the clear ones in my jacket and swop out when riding at night.
I have 3 pairs of goggles that I wear and a bunch I don't. I got a killer deal on Wiley X transitions and really wish I would have ordered a few more pair. Goggles do not last forever and eventually get scratched or have had bug splat cleaned off of them so many times they get to where they need replaced. I also have a pair of 7eye but they just don't fit my face perfectly but I wear them in a pinch. About a week ago I was at a HD shop and found a pair I really liked. All these are transition and change with the lighting conditions as they should. I wear contacts so need good fitting contacts as I also have lost them at the most inopportune times.....
I use Guard Dogs; they make a number of styles. Since I wear Rx I got a pair that fit over my glasses; but you could wear them alone as well. I didn't go with the dimming lens' because they don't get dark enough out here in Vegas, our sun is really intense and heat actually makes photo sensitive lens' not work as well which is another issue here in Vegas. My set has interchangeable lens' that I can quickly change from dark tint to clear.
