We are the same height and inseam. I had the chance to try a Windsplitter last weekend. I loved it in the morning and not so much in the afternoon when we were riding into a good head wind. In general it's good for me up to about 65mph. My 11" LRS Ultra Flat-top is better.

There are a lot of factors impacting the windshield hunt - height, inseam, helmet, arm length, bike model, bars, and seat. My helmet is full-face, stock seat, and stock bars. Arm length is something no-one mentions. But think about how much it and bars affects overall torso height. And more importantly how close your head is positioned to the shield. Try leaning into the windshield when you have turbulence and guaranteed you will find a smooth spot. It doesn't matter if you are in the wind blast or not. Putting your head in the smooth air is the trick. Also try fanning your fingers out, palm forward, about forehead level and slowly move forward. For me there is a steady transition from a puffing, turbulent air flow to a very smooth steady stream. Get your head in that stream and it's perfect. I've had a few sport bikes in the past and at 150..160mph the wind blast is significant but clean. No shake, no blurry vision.

I'm thinking about getting a LRS Stealth, but am waiting out the postal strike we've here in hoserland. In the meantime I'm going to put my C&C Sport Tour on and see how it works. It drops me down about an inch and back about an inch and a half. Wrong direction but should be interesting to see how it affects the aerodynamics.

Good luck on finding what works for you.

I replaced the standard 7" with a new WindSplitter over the weekend. Did a short back-road and hwy test ride. I am satisfied with the results. I don't feel wind in my face, some on the top of my head and some around the sides. I would say it is similar to riding in a convertible. I doubt you're going to eliminate it all. I'm also not planning a 3K mile trip and if I do I'll let you know how it goes. At this point, I like the way it looks, I'm certain 500 miles will be comfortable, I can chat with my passenger along the way without shouting, and I'll not get hit by anything like bugs or dirt. I give it an 8 out of 10 score, or two thumbs up.

Is the windshield chrome trim recommended when going with the wind splitter and will a three pocket bag fit using the wind splitter windshield?

Personally, I think that adding the windshield trim is an esoteric decision and not one based upon need.

Regarding the three pocket windshield bag, I have read that the Wind Splitter is tall enough to allow for the bag, but I have no personal experience which can confirm it.
