Default MP3 player

The parts manual says the HD MP3 player can't be installed if you already have cruise control... So who has a non HD MP3 player that works well on their Ultra?

Thanks,
Joe

Wait a minute how did you make it work? the book says:

"Not compatible with Right Auxiliary Accessory Housings P/N 70256-02 and 70255-02A, large diameter handlebars, Cruise Control Kit P/N 77165-98 or 77166-98, Tour-Pak Mounted CD Changer Kit P/N 77184-01 or Windshield Pouch P/N 58900-98B. "

I just thought because I have Cruise control it would not work.

I have the Cruise Control Kit P/N 77196-04 on my bike, which is NOT P/N 77165-98 or 77166-98. I looked up P/N 77165-98 or 77166-98 and they say "P/N has been discontinued from our supplier "

Hi Ed,

Your post is right on, I read the same thing in the book and that's why I thought/think I can't install it on my 05 Ultra. In fact, if you look online at the MP3 player the photo show's the thing installed exactly where the cruise controls are installed. So I would still love to know if it can be installed or not with the cruise control. My 05 came with cruise control so I'm not sure of the part number.

Thanks again,
Joe

I shopped that HD mp3 player before deciding on a Dell DJ. The Ipod Or Dell DJ were more versitile than the handle bar mount mp3 and hold more music.

OK I will post two pics. The first one is the mp3 player mounted on a regular housing. Dont have a pic with it mounted on a ultra, but it mounts exactly the same as the above pic.

And you can buy a larger card to hold more music. On the 512mb card I have now, I can put on 200-300 songs. Hopefully the pics help you understand.
