hey any one know what i can do .i been injuried and haven't been out on bike in a while.my bike is kept in a small gargae that gets a little hot inside when the temp goes up.well today i went to start bike and the throttle was stuck i had to use alot of strength to turn it .i got it moving and turning easier but if i dont turn it back then it just stay at its spot and the engine is racing. any one know what i should or have to do to get it working prorperly.am gettign tired of the two dealers i been using, seems liek everytime i bring it to one of the place the brake soemthing else. and the other one never seems to fix things right.
If cable hasn't been kept lubed, may be rusted or corroded from drawing moisture. Lube the cables and let them sit for a bit, then work them before starting and see if that helps.
Throttle grip been replaced or removed lately? like last itme in the dealer? need to re-install it properly. Also, check the action around where the grip is calmped into the brake assembly on the handlebars. if it is binding there make sure wires, etc are in proper place and there is nothing to prevent proper clearance when tightened down. Had that issue when I first replaced my grips with Iso's from Kury. Hope that helps... should be an easy fix with the tool kit that is provided with the Ultra's.
Oh yeah... pay close attention to the keys on the handle bar and the TBW assembly in the handlebar... really bad day if you bust off the slats used to keep the TBW aligned in the handlebars.
Wasn't a big fan of TBW (Throttle by wire) going into this... but I have adjusted, or compensated. Still get more of a warm fuzzy from the idea of having the throttle cables.
Since it is a 09 there are no throttle cables, if the throttle is hard to twist it can only be one thing. The switch housing is binding loosen up the screws on the switch housing there should be a slight amount of end play in the grip. adjust thing till you have that play and tighten things back up.
If things are really out of line it may be necessary to loosen the front brake master cylinder where it clamps to the bars.
