Loosen both barrels at the grip quite a bit to allow tb to close. Tighten the adjuster that's closest to the front of the bike until slack is taken up. You will have slight play in the grip and on each release you will hear the tb make a click sound as it hits the idle stop. Now take up the slack in the other adjuster until the audible click on the tb is almost gone. Go back the other way until click is solid again. Check full throttle operation by looking at the stop on the tb arm hitting the casting. Once you have minimal play in the start of the grip rotation, an audible idle click and full throttle indication, it is adjusted. It takes a bit of fiddling at first to figure out all the adjustments and the effect of one against the other, but it will make sense eventually. Don't tighten the return cable too much or it will screw with the other cables adjustment. Just take up the slack.
when you turn throttle and release it should easily come back to original place
i just adj. mine it was give and take a little like huey said.i tightened the one closest to brake i ferget which it is throttle or idle 1st.
FYI, when I changed my bars, and did a bunch of other pimpin'-out over the winter, THE MOST time I spent was on cable routing. I spent HOURS on it..... in fact, I had the bike up in the air on a hydraulic center-stand, with no weight on the wheels, and sat on a chair staring into the front of the bike with all the light/nacelle, etc. removed, and slowly moved the front wheel from side-to-side looking for binding. I tried many different adjustments on the banjo fitting as well for the front brake to avoid any interfence. I finally got it, mind you, your bars are different. You might need different lenghths of cables. Patience, plenty of light, and lots of zip ties and a pair of cutters...... JR
Thanks for the help. The problem I was having was it didnt feel like the trottle was responding well, thought i had it right, snappin back, just didnt have the gitty-up,took everybody's advice and it's runnin great now. Thank's
