I went straight to the comp baffles (no packing) so I don't know the difference in sound but they are loud and aggressive. The difference in performance isn't enough to need a new map.
Just added a comp baffle to my right side pipe a couple days ago. Wanted more bark and got it. Its definitely louder but not crazy. I put the dyno tuned baffle wrapper on the comp baffle since it stayed together when I pulled it. It had a little decel pop and a weird flapping? noise when I first fired it up; but that has seem to gone away. Definitely sounds smooth and a bit louder at hwy speeds and is more aggressive when rolling on it.
The bike did seem to stumble off the line a little more (maybe some tq. loss) and had to give it more rpms to take off or it would stall down. Don't know if it needs a map adjustment or not; but I will be calling FM soon to check.
I've thought about pulling the packing off too as long as there would be no noticeable performance drop, just to hear the difference.
Most of the exhaust escapes the right side (80% or something like that) so I assume most of the sound does the same. Not sure the sound would be any different with two; and perhaps a little less tq. loss with just one (maybe).
