Ok well I have spent the last year and a half on the Dyna section of this forum, I kinda feel like a trader now but what are you going to do.
Well I currently have a 2k dyna superglide and want to sell it to get a Road King Classic somehere in the 2002-2005 year.
My question is this: Is there any specific year that is better then the other? is the 2003 anniversaryEdition any different? ( engine or cosmetic) my eye seems to like that years model the best but I am not sure why? it looks like all the anniversary editions have the hard bags, any opinions on the hard bags vs leather bags?
I appreciate any advise you have to help me make the right decision on this.
If you are going FI, the '02 is the better year to have, IMO. They have the Delphi injection and better crank bearing compared to the '03 and later bikes.
I have an 05 and love it. IMO the leather bags look better but heck that's why I bought the Classic and not the Standard. If you want cruise control check to be sure what year you get I don't remember but I think it was 03 when it was added. I have just over 11K on mine and loved every mile.........................

Fuel injection is the same on 02 up to 07, 07 has 02 sensors but everything else is the same. Id stay away from 06, lots of issues plus all have catalist mufflers. 02-05 IMO is best used years to choose from.
What issues with the '06? I haven't had a single problem with mine. The only thing
I heard about was the 8*/25* injectors. Pretty simple to fix this if it's an issue.

Do a search in touring section on 06 and find many threads on, bad injectors, radio problems ,4th gear whine, surging, warped rotors and more, and Its the same with all years, not every bike is affected.
Good points by both of you on the hard bags.. I think it also give the bike a cleaner look to it. Now how about the space inside they look to be smaller than the leather bags. are they?
