Anyone running the 4" rinehart mufflers on their bike? I am looking at the blacked out ones for slipons on my RG Custom. Just curious on sound, hopefully not too obnoxious, etc. Thanks for any feedback
I tried out an Electra glide during my transition to the HD product and lifestyle, it had those mufflers on it, on a stock 88ci motor. It was a very pleasant sound. Deep rumble upon acceleration, very mild at idle and cruising, but a nice fat burble under power. I'm thinking of putting them on my RK for now until I decide weather to do full bbk or just stage1 for now.
I've had them on my bike for a few weeks now. They sound great at idle and are relatively quiet under 3k. I can easily get out of my neighborhood without pissing off anybody. They are very loud (I like that) when you grab a hand full of throttle, so loud that they drown own the stereo at full volume but hey, who's paying attention to the tunes when they've got the hammer down?
Cruising volume is similar to idle, sounds good and there are no unpleasant (annoying) sounds.
FYI, I have dresser duals in front of them so the sound will be different if you're running a 2-1-2 head pipe.
I'm running them on Dresser Duals and I love them. Good rumble at idle, throaty on acceleration and loud when I hammer it getting on the freeway. The V&H's were nice, just werent enough. I wanted to be heard on the freeway and these do it. Remember, loud pipes save lives!!
I love the sound of mine, as already mentioned above. And they do get louder when you remove the catted headpipe, but maintain the low noise level at idle & low rpm, which is great. I am currently waiting on a warranty claim through Clearline because my right side muffler started rusting on the outside body. Never seen any salt, only 2 washings, and about 3,000 miles. Hopefully it is just a fluke, but for how much the slip-ons cost, I shouldn't have to deal with finish issues.
