Default Long Legs

Picking up an '05 FLHTI in a few weeks (less!), and I'm wondering what any of the taller riders did for stretching out. I was looking at the Adjustable Highway Peg Mounting Kit - Long Angled for my stork like legs.

What have some of the other taller riders done for comfort.

I'm trying to avoid the stop at a Harley shop 4 hours into a 12 hour jaunt!

Any input you may have would be much appreciated.

Mac

I have installed Bubba Brakes extended floor boards and controls on my FLHT plus highway pegs. The floor boards and controls extend everything about 2 inces. Im going to put a corbin touring seat on next it puts you back about 2 inces in the saddle

Wow, this was an old post that noone answered.

I have since put on the corbin seat that you speak of. Very happy with it, in fact. I'm still trying to figure out what to do about the highway pegs, though I'm not in any real rush, as the next mod is braided cables and chrome switch housings.

The footboards don't seem to bother me where they are, though I may look into this option.

Thanks for the info.

Mac, I'd look at the extended floorboards before those highway pegs. When they' mounted on the crash bars, you have to raise your legs to what is an uncomfortable angle for me (6'1", 36 -38 inseam).

I moved my floorboards forward about 4 inches by cutting the floorboard mounts off and bolting one back on in the middle of the board, then mounting that onto the bike's forward floorboard mount. Moving the boards forward lets you use your heel to upshift if you keep the heel & toe shifter. Also made my own extended brake pedal by bending, cutting, and welding the stock one to suit me.
