asking for a friend....

will the leather bags from an earlier model (pre 2009) road king classic fit on a 2011 road king? i checked the part number in my parts manual, and they do have a -09 identifier, but that could be for any number of reasons.

i know the hard bags will fit from 98 on, i don't know why these would be any different, but stranger things have happened...

 

I have a set of RoadKing custom bags that I refinished they were off of a 06 RK and they will not fit the 2010 RK that I have - the mounts on the "new frame" seem to be further apart than the 06 mounting holes

 

see thats what i don't get. why would the fibreglass/abs bags fit, but not the leather bags?

 

skratch, the saddlebag brackets probably just need to be loosened and adjusted for using the other bags.

I saw where you checked the part numbers and the newer versions have -09 suffix. So it may be a no go.

but it's just the newer versions of the leather bags. the hard bags are still using the same number. so is there just a cosmetic change to the leather bags, or is there some reason they won't fit..... wish i knew someone around here who had a newer rkc......
