Yeah, I make comments to my friends about their loud pipes too. It's usually something like "get that obnoxious **** away from me!". There's nothing worse than riding next to someone and not even being able to hear yourself think. OR not being able to ride through a certain town because they've gotten tickets for loud pipes there in the past.

I guess that I just don't see the sense & logic in needing to be so damn loud. The only thing that I can figure is that it's an emotional need for attention - basically: Look at me because it makes me feel better about myself! I'm pretty sure that therapy would be less expensive and money better spent.

That's the way that I see it...

Okay, cool. Thanks for the info. Sounds like it made a little difference in volume, but not alot (or enough for you anyway.) That's what I was after. I appreciate the reply.

If you noticed, the OP said he STILL wasn't happy after he removed his cat. I'd like to know FROM HIS EXPERIENCE the differences.

But thanks for the smartass reply.
If you scroll down, there's you tube video of some differences. And yes, i am a smartass, but there was some substance to it.

and some of us are sick of seeing the same 4 ****ing thread topics pop up every day. SEARCH.

IMC, This may help: noise lever scale 1 = stock to 10 = LOUD.

Stock catalytic headers & Rush 1.75 mufflers = 3

No catalytic V&H headers & Rush 1.75 mufflers = 9

No YouTube at my work and you can't always get a good idea from those anyway. Also, I didn't start the thread.

I too am tired of seeing the same thread topics all the time, but hey, I have alot more to worry about in life than that, so it's far from a big deal to me.

The last time I got tired of this place, I left for a year.

Yep +1 One of the reasons I don't mind the cat being in the header..wouldn't mind some slipons to deepen the sound a bit but as far as louder? I'm all set

If the cat is removed... Wouldn't they be just as good as aftermarket header pipes? or is there a difference. The stock pipes have a nice look and good chrome. I was thinking I could go with the Rinehart slip ons with the stock catless pipe and end up saving several hundred bucks. I'm sure someone has that set up.
