Hey lp - sorry to ignore you, I haven't looked at this particular thread for a while. For power on my mount, I ran the cable down the handlebar, into the fairing shroud and then under the tank console; spliced an accessory plug to it and connected to the plug under the seat. Nice and easy without having to dismantle the fairing to tap into one of those leads. One of the leads in the accessory plug is connected to the ignition switch and bypasses the accessory switch on the fairing cap.
Finally got around to pics. 1st off, I'm more about usability over aesthetics so I'm not hung up over the ball on bars look. Avg person wouldn't even notice. Anyway, here's my Ram mounts in pic form on my '09 Heritage Classic. Can't show with the Droid phone/GPS in since thats my picture taking device .
