Well I already tried using those to negotiate down but the seller wont budge. He claims he is the first owner. Always serviced it himself. Also, can I get a carfax like report for a motorcycle?
He did say that he primarily used the motorcycle as a "boulevard cruiser", thus the low mileage..
Why not take it to a dealer and get them to do a once over - and test ride. Might cost you $200 (or not) but that'd be money well spent.
Tell the seller you'll meet at the dealer with a cashier's check in hand for the asking price and subject to an inspection by the dealership you'll buy it.
That sounds like a horrible deal and a terrible price! Better give me the contact info and I'll straighten it out, I may have to get it shipped up here just to make sure you're not being taken advantage of!!!
Seriously, it sounds great I would jump on that fast. At that price no matter what, you could always get your money back out of it. Good luck.
..whatever you do...don't listen to those that say..."well..it's an ok deal but not a great deal"...you'll dilly-dally and lose out on a REALLY good deal...this is was THE BIKE to have in 02...and that is perfect mileage...means the guy rode it JUST enough to keep it lubed...grab it or you'll be sorry...you could resell that in a flash if you had any second thoughts...
Thanks everyone. I have finalized the deal with the seller.
This is my first motorcycle and my first Harley. Any experienced forum members in central NJ care to help me inspect the RK before the actual deal take place this weekend? I am really not sure of what to look for. Also, the seller will not let me ride it unless the title is the transferred and the insurance is in my name.
Ok....turned out to be a bad deal for me as the seller just let me know that he sold the motorcycle to someone else for $800 more. I am travelling on business and was going to meet him tomorrow to pay him and pick up the RK. Was hoping to be riding my Harley tomorrow
