I was up at Laconia HD earlier today checking on handlebar options. For bike week they raise their labor rate to $99 an hour, and that was straight from Steve the service writer. Needless to say they didn't get my business. One of the vendors set up in their parking lot did, and I got better bars (in my opinion), installed for less money.
They could at least buy you dinner before they screw you!
Only in America! Just like hotel rooms everything goes up for the week....That is just Fu$ken abusive...Good luck and hope it works out OK get-en home.
ok, will someone enlighten me as to exactly what is a "repair belt" and how do you install/use it?
Also, $800 to replace a belt?!!!! What all is involved in replacing it? Remove rear tire and what?
Over 100K miles and have never replaced a belt before. thanks

The swing arm for sure would have to be removed along with the rear tire/ shocks etc.. That should be about it. If you Google HD repair belt you can find lots of info. It allows you to install a temporary belt until you can get a replacement but is limited on it's longevity. Kinda works like a chain with a link in it.
