Default Seat Pads

I had my stock seat from my 2010 EGC cut down a bit to help with th sore butt thingie, it seemed to help a little but in thinking about gettin a Alaska Leather Sheepskin cover. For you guys that have had experance with these things how did you like it and did your back side feel better? I love my bike but hate the seat and the burn.

Thanks a bunch.

I've tried the sheepskin and several gel pads... Just wasted my money. Find a seat you like. For me, it's hard to beat a HD Sundowner.

Not sure how you cut it down, but I would call Mean City Cycles. Explain what you did, and what you want, and see if they can make you happy. They do excellent work.

I've had the Alaska Leather pad on the last 3 bikes. I don't think it will "fix" an uncomfortable seat, but I think it does make a good seat better. If you have pressure points, you'll probably have to check out other seats. I think it's cooler in the summer and warmer in cold weather with the pad. There's a reason cars don't have vinyl seats any more.

I've never tried the sheepskin or bead. I have a Corbin and I can ride a long way without issues. However, we do some long trips each summer... 1500 - 3000 miles in a week. For those trips my girl and I each have an Airhawk. They make two models now, I have the original. Very good company and this product WORKS! Last year we did over 2700 miles. We had the Airhawks and my buddy had the harley pad that was mentioned earlier. He asked to use my Airhawk when I wasn't using it. I can double my riding time with no discomfort at all. My girl won't go on a short ride without hers. Are they expensive, YES! But, I've heard these items called the rolls royce of seat cushions. I think the company started out making medical cushions for folks in wheel chairs.

+1 another vote for the AirHawk. These things really work.

I have two Alaska leather sheepskins, one long hair and one sheared.
I think they are real comfortable, I use them on a HD sundowner seat.

Just finished a 2700 mile 9 day ride. I love my Sundowner. When other riders were all sore and ready to stop I was still good to go all day long.

On another note I have the same Sundowner on my 2010 Fat Boy Lo and it sucks big time ! I am sore after 2 hours on that seat.
