Here in California I think that sounds high.

I would shop around a little more and go for the 96-6 speed just have patience.

That price seems high considering I got my '07 Ultra for $14,500k. The 5 speed tranny and the TC88 are a good combination, although the cam chain tensioners need changing around the 40K mark. I like my 96" with the 6th speed, but for the most part 6th is useless unless I am making a run across west Texas and can run at 80+. The 6 speeds are geared VERY tall, which you will notice the first time you ride one in a direct comparison to a 5 speed. It's not horrible, but takes some getting used to.

EDIT - With respect to the cam chain tensioners, not sure if I misspoke: I have no idea if the TC88B motors in Softtails are in any way similar to the TC88A's.

I'm prejudiced, but my Road King handles as well as a Heritage or Deluxe (imo) and you get the advantage of air suspension, touring frame, rubber mounted engine, yada yada yada all for about $17k new.

There is nothing wrong with an 88" with a 5 speed. They've worked well for 12 years or so. I have no issue with running my 2002 RKC all day, any day with its 5 speed (although now it's a 95").

My 96" with the 6 speed is nice, but I didn't buy it for the 96" or the 6 speed. I bought the Ultra for the passenger comfort and radio.

Good luck.

I recently went from a stock carbed 88 to a stock 96. The increase in power is very noticeable even though the 96 has more miles and is a heavier scooter.
