How about some of you guys with big bore experience answer me a question if you don't mind. When I got my 07 SG I went ahead with the 103" kit. My question is can the 103" cyclinders be bored out to 107"? Just curious. Not something I am going to do really soon, pipes and tuner are next, but maybe in the future. My kit has the SE-255 cams and stock heads. Thanks in advanced!

P.S. Just threw in the pic of my '98 FLHPI, sold it before I got the SG. I am in line at Talledega Superspeedway, waiting to take my two laps around the track! It was the March of Dimes Ride. YES!!!!! The laps were a blast!!!!!
No, they can not. The ones that Millenium makes and sells are a bit different than the HD cylinders. The liners are different material. You could easily make it a 107 with a set of their jugs & pistons though.
Ok, I had thought I saw people say that the stock 88 cylinders could be bored to 95 was hoping the 2007 103" could be bored to 107". Material problem eh? I was thinking it might not be thick enough, material never occured to me. Thanks!

Going from 88" to 95" is significantly different though.
The 103" motor already has 95" bores in their cylinders. Its the added stroke to the flywheels that bumps the 95 up to 103" displacement.
To go with a bigger bore and get 107" you need a 98" Revolution performance top end. The reason they can be bored out larger is they do not have a cast iron liner as the stock cylinders do. They compensate for that...and actually improve upon the cast liner, by coating the aluminum jugs with Nikasil [which I think stands for nickle silicon carbide] finish...which reduces friction and provides a better seal. Another benefit is they run cooler without the cast iron trapping heat in the cylinder, and the all aluminum cylinder expands and contracts in a more linear rate with the forged alloy pistons used in these kits.
If you bore out a coated cylinder don't you get an uncoated cylinder?
You don't bore out Nikasil cylinders. If you want to go bigger, you buy a bigger kit. Without the Nikasil liner, the piston would wear through the walls of the all aluminum cylinder. With the Nikasil, they are strong enough that RevPerf gives them a LIFETIME warrantee.
