+1 on the right size for your bike. But specifically, I have the 1.5" slash cut Rush pipes on my '05 Ultra. It gives me the sound I want around town, but at highway speed they are a nice purrrrrr without being overly intrusive. I went from stock (ugh!) to Samson Rolled Thunder ovals and, while nice at idle and fun around town -- especially when you got on them -- they were annoying at highway speed. I was always turning up the radio, talking louder and louder on the CB and intercom, and it just kept escalating on the dB side. So I took those off, put on the Rush pipes, and haven't thought twice about it!!! Really nice, full, low throaty sound... And the option to remove, re-wrap, and adjust the baffle is an added benefit.
After reading Rush Products using search tool on here. Most led me to FuelMoto and directed me to Rush's 2" Baffle. I am now a true firm believer of Rush. 1.5" at $100 is a good buy. If you're not happy...You could always go bigger and change 'em yourself.
yes...great products...I have 1.75 slash downs on my bike...didn't want to pay big money for exhaust at the time...I really like the sound of them...loud enough without being annoying.
Quite Happy with my Rush with 2" Baffles on the 09 Ultra commected to a set of Freedom True Duals .. Looks and Sounds Great .. Would jump all over them for 100.00
Well I went ahead and bought them. Turned out that they have the 2" baffles, so that's a plus. Put them on this afternoon and just got back from a run on various roads from neighborhood streets to the expressway. I really like the way they sound at idle, and they definitely shout at full throttle! But at 2500 rpm on the expressway, they are nice and quiet, only slightly louder than stock. I love the deep tone at idle and low rpms.
I simply replaced the stock mufflers with the Rush slip-ons, keeping the stock intake and ECM settings. They seem to do fine, and no sign of the engine running hotter. But I think I'm heading for a new intake and fuel management system to open up the breathing overall. The right muffler was slightly bronzed at the throat from the previous owner's application, so I suspect that they are sensitive to exhaust heat - I'll look for a little enrichment to hopefully avoid that getting worse.
So for $100, I am well pleased. The quality of the muffler is better than the stock unit and the sound is a good improvement. I would like to have a set of endcaps to improve the appearance even more, but they are quite good looking as they are!
I have a friend that has offered me a pair of Rush slip-ons with the 1.5" baffles at a very good price. I haven't seen them or heard them yet, but he describes them as louder than stock, but quieter than his Rienhardts.
Anybody have experience with the Rush's? Any pictures?
At $100 for the pair, it's mighty tempting....
If you buy your friends mufflers I have a brand new set of 2.5" baffles for the Rush mufflers. I bought a brand new set of mufflers (15303 series straight cut ) on E-Bay a couple of years ago ($100.00 -What a deal !! ) and installed a set of 1.75" baffles in them. You can have the baffles for $35.00 plus actual shipping costs. Let me know. My zip is 48116. Baffles Sold.

Reason: SOLD
Just put 1.75 Rush straight mufflers on and I am sold. I love the deep rumble and growl when i throttle.......I have a 2009 road king without the cat, and would it sound any better with two different baffles? Like a 1.75 on left and 2.25 or 2.50 on right?
Really like my Rush with 2" baffles......almost 40k miles with them.
Chrome is still flawless, the growl is ever present and never obnoxious.
I went with the 'baloney cut' cause I like to be different.
