Around here if you listen to what the weather man says you would never have a picnic. Thursday night 65% chance of rain. No rain. Friday night 0% chance. Got soaked on the way home. Guess he was right. Probably didn't rain someplace.
I have the same bike and just went back and forth to Alaska and it pretty much rained the whole trip, the good thing is it handles really good in crappy weather
I've had my 2010 Ultra Limited for 11 months now and absolutely love it! I've put 10,000 miles on it which is the most miles i've put on any bike i've owned in that period of time over 30 years of riding (traded a lot in my younger days). Though I never saw a need to do any engine work on any of the bikes i've owned over the years, because of timing and specials I was able to do a stageII (Fuelmoto + woods 555 + dyno) for only $1200.00 bucks and the bike runs very strong (92hp 106tq) and cool. Several 90+ days and at a stop light for several minutes the EITMS does not kick in anymore (still activated). I have not experienced to date some of the problems mentioned hear (compensator bang, radio going out, etc..).
The one thing i am starting not to like is no matter how well I plan, every time I take this bike out I get caught in some monster storms. I'm not talking showers, i'm talking torrential downpours. The forcast can call for 0% chance of rain with sunny skies. If I go out a popup storm will come out of the blue and the heavens will open up. So I have decided since I like this bike so much I am just gonna ride it more and help out the drought situation here in the south.
Ride safe my friends!
i have decided in mn. if you want to ride you better ride in the rain

I read your blog and that was an amazing trip! Your are right, the bike does handle well in the rain. The first time I got caught in the rain visibility was a challenge because of having to look thru the stock windshield. I have since replaced it with an LRS 8" and now have much better visibility since I can see over it.
