Yesterday started the bike, sounded funny, coming from rear cylinder exhaust, put my hand down by the 02 sensor bung and can feel air. Uh oh not good, shut off the motor.
Can see a small crack, remove 02 sensor and remove pipe, holy S, the crack goes all the way around the pipe and around some of the bung.
This sucks, these headers were on the bike when I got it, no idea of make, advertised as SE but not sure. It was right at the bend where the bung is.
Not sure if it could be welded, my guess is new freakin 400+ head pipe set.
I had a V&H pipe from a set of duals do that a few years back. The sold me the single pipe less heat shield for a little less than $100.00. Hope it works out okay for you.
I just replaced the rear V&H headpipe with a crack several inches long. The pipe was three years old and had about 30,000 miles on it. Got a new one for $80 from V&H. Like, neckball, I hope it lasts.
