09 FLHT 18600 babied miles. Its at the dealer for past week and a half. Waitin on parts. I was told about the ("goodwill?") clause. HD would pay for problems that should not happen this new? I ask the service manager about it, he said he would call HD. What do you guys think?
The same thing happened to my '08 Road Glide every 18k miles like clockwork! At 18k miles, HD fixed it under warranty. At 36k miles and two months out of warranty, HD picked up the tab. At 55k miles and three years, they paid for it again. The local tech told me that HD was aware of the problem and considered it "normal wear", but agreed to do the repair at no cost as a show of goodwill.
It will be interesting to see if my '11 Ultra Classic has the same problem.

It is good to know they paid the tab twice out of warranty. My went out at 14k while under warranty.
Mine went out at 17,000. Just rolled over 32,000 this afternoon. I bought the extended warranty. It paid for itself in a little over a year and still have 3.5+ yrs to go. By the time the warranty is up I'll be looking for a new bike. Although at this rate with all the new parts it may just be slightly used. Don't beat on my bike but it is driven daily.
Mine went out twice before it hit 25K 2nd time it also took care of transmission but it was all taken care off under warranty and now with 60K on it no issues knock on wood.
