02 Electra Glide Starter Q&A
I recently pulled the primary case to replace the loose shifter with a new unit. I put it back together (red loctite, etc) and didn't adjust the clutch to spec (had the wrong guidebook). Anyways, the clutch began slipping while 10 miles from home...I nursed it home w/the clutch slipping pretty bad (ouch...top speed only 30mph). When i changed the primary oil and adjusted the clutch to spec (now w/the shop manual) I discovered the starter motor just spins. Help!
What is the most likely damage from riding w/a badly slipping clutch?
(pinion teeth, clutch splines, etc.).
The starter had worked fine until this episode happened...thanks
