Cruse cable replacement
About 2 years ago I installed a cruise control on my 04 RK custom. Got it from Harley. All mount holes, wire hookups, the works, was there. It worked great. I have been noticing that when the cruise kicks out the throttle does not return. When you are not using the cruise the throttle returns. So I took the cruise cable loose from the throttle body to put some cable lube in it. It is attached to the control box by a twist loc boot. I took that off. The cable somehow is attached to a flat nylon strip and it goes in the control box. You can slide the cable housing back and fourth over the cable and it is tight and rough. It feels like a rough lawn mower cable or something. Lube does not help. The cable is straightened out and i don't see any kinks of damaged spots anywhere. Harley says i will have to buy the control box for $350. I paid about $400 for the complete system. I need some answers from you guys. I cant find out anything from FAQ or anywhere else. How can I replace the cable? How can i get the throttle stop off the end of the cable so i can slide the housing off to see what is wrong. Is there a universal throttle stop anywhere that I could put back on it. Any suggestions.

I am not clear on this but as I remember there is a way to set the cable lash as detailed in the SM. I would locate the instructions and try resetting the cable lash before buying a new one.
If you need to replace it try EBay. Recently I saw the just the module for $50 for a pre '08.
