I put BAL on my RK this year also and I feel much more comfortable knowing people see me much better from behind. It's hard to believe that it hurts your eyes when you look into them. If only there was something for the animals running out in front of you.
Is it much brighter then stock with out the brakes?
I know on sunny days it's hard to tell if the stock rear light is on or not with out the brake light...Thanks.

There are something like, 23 patterns. Some are 'stock' brightness.....but there are about 19 patterns that I think they call...PARADE brightness.....those are the ones you don't want to stare at.
I have one on my bike....
I had a BAL on my King and I have one on my Glide Ultra. The light is all that and really does its job quite well. Have received many compliments from other riders. Even had a cager tell me there is no way they couldn't see me.

There are 3 brightness settings. The parade modes are just flash patterns, each one employing on of the 3 brightness settings.
A good friend bought me one for Christmas. Got it set on level 2 intensity for tail light and 7 flashes before going solid red on Brake lights. They WILL get the attention. Man they are bright!!! Happy Trails.....
My son told me with my BAL-1 on level 3 it looked like I was riding my brakes. That is until I actually hit the brakes and the BAL-1 did it's thing.
Anyway I dialed it back to level 2 intensity....
