Default lowering

Any tips on removing stock shocks from 02 ultra? I am going to send them to bitchin baggers in arizona and put on 11.25 inch. also going to lower front 1 inch. Any tips on how to lower front end?

For the rear shocks I would put it on a motorcycle jack and only lift the rear till the rear wheel just touches the ground.
Remove the shocks and then go to the next jack stop and release till you get them back.
As for the front forks , I would wait and see if I really had to drop them an inch.
See if the shocks drop it enough , if not , do the forks.
Seems like dropping the forks causes other handling problems eventually , and keep in mind the jiffy stand will stand the bike up straighter if you do both.

I lowered my front end with Progressive 1" drop shocks. Have to remove the forks and disassemble them. You probably have a cartridge in one fork so its a little more involved than just coil springs like I have (02 Road King). If you have the service manual, its not that hard. Hardest part maybe removing the fairing. Best tip: get the Service Manual.
