I replaced my bars today along with all the cables. When I was done and putting everything back together I just on her to start her up and set the position of the levers and such and she will not start. I have checked everything and can not figure it out.
The only strange thing is that the check engine light does not come on either nor does the fuel gauge light which should since I have switched the line over to the Skull Digital gauge. Everything is working fine other then that. Lights, horn, turn signals etc. I checked for spark by pulling the plug and putting against the head, and didn't see any spark but not sure that is a real good ground and don't have a spark plug checker with me here.
She is an 04 Road King Classic with Fuel Injection. Please tell me I have trigger some sort of reset or something by replacing the clutch cable or something???? I really don't want to take this bike to the dealer.
Figured it out. I had two of the wires crossed when I pulled the wire extension off from my apes and ran the wires internally in the bars. The wire extension had two solid white wires and I ( or my brother ) had accidently crossed these wires. The wired thing was that everything worked except that the check engine light did not come on and the pump did not come on.
Now my next problem. For what ever reason the throtle will not snap back when I pull it. I have rerouted the cables and relubed and pulled the off and put them on. I think it is a defective idle cable. When I got it (order the diamond back cables from the dealer) the end ( motor side) of the idle cable had a twist in the cable it self almost like a pigs tail. I didn't think anything of it but after installing it I think that is causing it to bind up.
If I pull the idle cable off all the way and run just the throtle cable all seems fine. Got any suggestions?????
All my local dealerships are closed tomorrow, if anyone in the Plano are wrenches please feel free to stop by tomorrow and lend a hand as it is gonna rain anyway [:@].
Other then that everything went smooth and all is installed. Took a bunch of pics along the way and will get them posted on my site and put out a link hopefully tomorrow.
