Default SE Compensator or Heavy Breather?

Can only afford one. Which way would you go?

2007 RKC with full Stage 1 upgrade. I hear that annoying start-up bang which should be fixed by the more robust compensator kit, but no other noticeable issues w/ primary. Long term implications if I don't upgrade? Also want a heavy breather just because I like the way they look and I'm told it'd deliver more power. Don't *think* I'd need a remap since I have the Stage 1 mapping & SE filter now. Best bang for the buck? Just looking for opinions. I know it's up to me...just can't decide.

If you are starting to notice issue with start up, then you should go with the compensator first IMO

Depends on how many miles on your bike and how much you ride. If the only issue with your compensator is the loud whack you get at startup, you might get quite a bit of use out of the stock compensator. I changed mine out at about 30K miles, mostly because I'd rather do it on my schedule, rather than because the stock unit failed in service. I pulled the original one out and inspected it closely, and there really wan't that much wear, just a little galling on the sliding cam and shaft extension. It might have gone another 30K miles without problems. Or it might have started giving me fits later that month, who knows?

I did get rid of the loud bang at startup, though.

Compensator for sure. If you already have the stage 1 done then the Heavy Breather is for show only. The compensator is a real upgrade.

If the compensator goes out you won't be riding.
But you will look good on the side of the road with that Heavy Breather on.

Thanks for the great input. Compensator it is. Texas Fat Boy makes some great sense. Breather won't do me much good if I ain't movin'.
