I wanted my Rineharts a little louder as well. I was hoping I would get the sound I was after once my FullSac headpipe showed up, but that was not the case. I ended up removing the Rinehart baffles and bought a set of Big City Thunder QQ baffles. The sound is perfect now and my ears aren't bleeding after riding all day.
Just adding the slip-ons, they won't be that much louder than the factory exhaust.
You need to either install a full exhaust system, or at least remove the Catalytic Converter in the factory head pipe if you want louder.
I have the 4" Rineharts on my SG, and like the sound.
"Not much louder than stock", I hope I'm not disappointed as I just ordered a set yesterday for on 08 RK in stock form. Not looking for super loud but wanted it to sound like a harley and let people know I'm around.

Does your '08 have a catalytic converter?
If not, then they will be louder on your bike.
My '11 still has the factory cat in place, so that is why I stated "not much louder than stock".
I have heard these exact same pipes on new 2011 bikes without the cat, and they are much louder.
My Riney's got louder after about 600 or so miles, but I'm running V&H dresser duals too. I love the tone. The V&H slip-on's that came with the pipes were too quiet.
I put Big City Thunder baffles in my Screamin Eagle slip ons because I wanted more sound. These things are awesome. Beside the sound which is above slip-ons but less than headers the folks, Gail and Jim are awesome people to work with. I recently had a little issue pop up and they were happy to assist and available. I have not had to turn an adjustment anywhere on my bike. These things rock.

I actually don't know if I have a cat or not? I bought the bike used and was told it was completely stock. Not sure if there is a way to tell or not without cutting the pipe open?

Unless your bike was originally sold for California, it does not have a cat
