Default Ehaust flange nut torque

? HD manual states torque exhaust flange nuts to about 10 foot pounds but, the Rinehart true dual instructions state to torque to 20 foot pounds. Big difference. What did those of you that changed exhaust torque to?

The gaskets in the exhaust flange are designed to compress and crush. I woul not be to concerned about the scpecific torque setting in this situation. I would tighten the flanges down and ride the bike to make sure there is not a leak. If there is a leak you will either hear it or experience decel pop. After a couple hundred miles I would snug the nuts down again. I don't believe it's called for, but I put a dab of anti-sieze on the studs in the event I ever have to take them off.

I was more concerned the stud could break if indeed the 20 foot pounds was overtorque. What the hell, I split the difference and went to 15 foot pounds. Per a previous tip, I did use never-seize also.
