Grizzlies on or near the roads are common in Yellowstone. They call it a bear jam when everyone stops their cars to get a look.
I can't believe how stupid some people are around wildlife. I once saw a guy in Yellowstone with his son. Boy was probably around 8 and daddy kept urging him to get closer to a bison - he was within 10 feet. I finally asked the guy if he was trying to get rid of the kid. His reply was that the rangers wouldn't allow the animals to get so close if it wasn't safe. I told him he shouldn't be reproducing.
