Total length including threads is about 11". The adds will say what models they fit.
Do yourself a favor and get one with heim joints, or buy what you like and buy the joints separately

After you put on Helm joints.....carry a couple zip ties for the people with OEM
connections.

Here's what I did first to my last bike , stainless/teflon bearing heims.
Did the same with the current bike too.
Not too fancy , but the most durable joints I've ever seen.
These are the STF-5 from Midwest Controls.
http://www.midwestcontrol.com/part.php?id=301
Here's what they look like on the bike.

I reused the stock steel rod and put the ends on till they nearly bottomed.
The length from bolt center to bolt center is 12.5"
If you go slightly long or short , simply move the shift lever to the next spline on the shifter shaft and finish your adjustment from there.
Great mod for around $25.00 plus shipping
Oh I forgot , I needed a front and rear bolt with nylock nuts and blue locktite.
I used stainless bolts also.
While I was at it , I drilled and tapped the primary for a grease fitting so it would stay smooth and slick for a very long time.
Bulletproof and durable.
Mick
