Default Grounding suggestions PLEASE

I bought a ARC mini amp and some 6.5 Hertz speakers and am trying to find the best place to ground both the main ground and the ground wire on the little plug that comes with the amp. I now have the main one connected to the neg battery terminal but have read that's not a good idea. Looked for a place for the small wire coming from the plug and don't see anything that looks good. I am not an audio guy and this is my first amp install and just want to make sure I do it right. I did a search and have read many threads on here about the amp and speakers but have not found the answer to my question. Thanks in advance guys. Hope to get this wrapped up in the morning. Oh, by the way the bike is a 2011 Road Glide Custom.

The frame is (-) have you found a ground near the neck/front-end? Take a look!

You can ground either to the neg battery terminal or to the frame. I have mine grounded to the neg battery terminal with no issues. My ground wires are usually no longer than 12", but I did this on a recommendation and have had no issues.

There's a black wire (about 16 gauge, IIRC) going the lower part of the triple tree/head tube area to your right side (if you are in front of the bike looking at it w/ the fairing off), it's tucked in a bit and you will see a small white female harness/plug that pops right off. That's the other ground I use.

On my RK, there was a cable clamp on the right side of the frame just behind the neck. The screw goes into the frame and is thus grounded. Used that for my PowerPort, and it worked fine.

Ground to the neck, or on mine I grounded my amp to a spot on the left side triple tree. There is something else that's grounded there

The only thing I see on the neck is the inner fairing bracket mounting bolts. I pulled one off but the cant get the thing to move so I can scrape the paint off. I will just leave it going to the neg battery terminal like Big Twi$t did and see how it works? I guess the road glide is different because I dont see anything grounded anywhere except the risers and I aint pulling all that chit off again. Thanks for the help fellas, Im gonna go look for a little white plug. I will let you know what I come up with. Thanks again.

The negative battery terminal is atttached to the frame.....do not hesitate attaching the ground wire to the negative terminal or to the frame....they are both considered the "ground plane".

Yeah, don't worry about grounding to the frame...it's no big issue. BUT...make sure your ground is touching bare metal (no powder coat or paint) and is nice and snug.

Ground to the master star ground in the front part of the battery box.
