I just looked at your post again, looks like you have a 2010 already, why would you want to upgrade? You can have yours painted and upgrade the engine to a 103 or 107, and more than likely still come out ahead. Just seems like an expensive paint job if that's the reason....jmho.
+1
The 96 motor is no slouch, and unless you're willing to spend lots more $$$, the 103 motor is not enough of an improvement to make it worth it the effort.
I sold my 2010 for more than a brand new 2012 by quite a bit! Got real lucky or the guy really didn't know the market. Put it on Craigslist for outstanding price and guy bought it. So no bike and really don't love any 4 colors, I like the bright red in 2011 but really want a 2012 not a left over...might have to wait to see colors in person, but not buying black again. As for 96" it was a good motor no complaints rode a 103 Limited last weekend over 1000 miles and couldn't tell much difference.
...why wouldn't you wait until at least the 20th of this month to see what else HD releases? Their website says that what just came out was a "limited release"..and that they would release the rest of 2012 on July 20th...I sure as heck would wait to see what else is offered...so far 2012 is going down as perhaps one of the lamest "new-model" releases ever....I would look for a good deal on an 09,10, or 11 model...why pay top dollar?...
We just got a '12 here at our shop in the Big Blue Pearl.
I don't normally care for blue, but it looks pretty good.
Other than that, it's my opinion that 2011 was a better year for colors than 2012 will be.
They always run a custom color or two during the model year. You could wait to see what drops or you could wait until the 20th when all the models and colors are released.
