Default Road Glide Question

The fairing changed slightly in 04 right? Is there really in difference in how good they work? I can't really see much diff. I guess I'd have to see them side by side.
There are some really good deals on NICE used FL's right now. 02-05. I like the black RG with the chr/blk motor.

Thank's
John

John,

There isn't that much difference. If you find a good deal then go for it. Where did you find a chrome and black motor?

Suppose to be something about wind velocity and buffeting and all that crap. All I know is the rubber strip still comes loose on the windshield.

I'm sorry. I wasn't very clear. I looked at a Roadking , but the day before that, I looked at an 02 RoadGlide. Black with the single pinstripe and with the Chr/Blk motor. Pretty much stock. Slipons (SE) 20K miles. He wants 14K for it. It's pretty clean. Has the stk height windscreen, but it's very scratched at the bottom. I want the shorty anyways. I'm supposed to go ride it in the next day or two.
I really like that RoadGlide of yours. You're right . . . It is mean lookin !!

Thanks again,
John

I've had both an 02 and an 05 RG. There is virtually no differene in the "ride" or wind blockage. THe only thing I noticed on the 05 was that, form the seat, the windshield looked HUGE at first. The only real difference is the angle of the entire fairing assy. Due to the angle change, they cut the windshields a little different.

I still have one of the 100th anniversary smoked HD shields I used on my 02. It install fine on the 05, but looks stupid because it stands up almost strait on the 05 fairing...

Anyone need a pre-04 smoked HD shield?

Default RE: Road Glide Question

I just bought most of my parts for the RG fairing to mount on a bike. After getting inner and outer fairings and looking at the plastic alinging pieces ...I was wondering if there was info on how to install and remove fairing?

Thanks

John,
Not much difference in the fairings pre 04 to 04 and later but there were changes made in 04 that make the 04 and later more desireable IMO. I know the back tire is wider......besides paint and fairing the other changes escape me right now but am sure someone will know what I am talking....or in this case, not talking about.

The chrome and black motors (like the EG classics) on the RG's were 02 and earlier, except the screaming eagle RG's.....someone can correct me if I am wrong.
