well here's my problem and i think i know the answer but really not sure. i have a 05 ultra and the cruise will not disengage with the rear brake pedal, i also have no brake lights with the pedal pushed. now i'm thinking rear brake light switch. now here's the part that's throwing me i pulled the wire off the switch and it ohm'd out like it's working. so if the switch is bad why would it ohm out ok?
i did check the trouble code for the cruise and i got a 122 and that is for the brakes. the front lever will disengage the cruise and work the brake lights.
i stopped and picked up a new switch and i'm going to put it in but just not sure if it's my problem
changed out the switch and after getting line bleed off i now have brake lights again...still no idea why the one in there ohm'd out as if it was good?
yes it's now working too. I was in Delaware when I discovered it wasn't working. tapped the back brake and it wouldn't disengage. finished my ride up to Maine then back to home with no other problems
the switch costed me $20.70 from a dealer and only took about a hour to put on and bleed brakes off. i know it could be done a lot faster but it was my 1st time and i do work slow. what i can't figure out is why the one that was in there ohm out like it was working when it wasn't
