Default New bars.....

I put a set of the new Street Slammer bars on my Road King this weekend. Let me know what you think...

From the front.

From the drivers view (sort of).

Default New bars..... Also

By the way. I pulled my apes off for no other reason then I wanted a change in style on my bike. I am lowering it finally and reworking all the sheet metal in the back and the bags so I wanted more of a racier look....

If anyone is interested I am selling my 18' Chubby Apes. ( Link to manufacture here) ) I paid almost $250 for the bars plus the cables. I will sell them to anyone on this forum for $200 plus shipping and throw in the cables. See pics below.

Here is a pic of the Apes. (Note the controls and wiring is not included and you will have to extend your own wiring harness. Not that hard have done it twice now).

Here is a pic of the Apes and the cables. (Note that the Drive side lower front brake cable is discolored a bit. I talked to a service guy at the local Harley shop and he said that this has happened to him twice on this personal RKC and that it is brake fluid that get caught behind the coating and causes it to discolor. I never had any problems with the cable leaking or loss or pressure so I never got around to changing the cable, but if you buy this you may want to order a new lower cable from Barnetts when you put them on.

If you have any questions please email me at JSkwarek@GMail.com.

Jimbo,
The feel is good, puts my arms straight and don't have to reach at all. I have not had a chance to go on a ride yet cause the idle cable that I got from the dealer is bad so the throttle is not snapping back. I will get it installed on Friday and hopefully get to ride it on Saturday before I am back out of town again on Sunday.

Your new bars have similar dimensions to the ones I'm running, just somewhat narrower. I've found these bars tend to keep my arms and back straight. The riding posture is comfortable with less slouch. The only thing I notice on long trips is that my left elbow will stay extended & locked and get sore after a few hours of riding if I forget to loosen up from time to time.

Sorry bro, but I don't like them.
I had a set on my softail once, I liked them at first but for long trips they hurt my lower back and shoulders. I ended up going with 12 1/2" Apes and they are perfect for me.

Yea drag bars like these are going to be like Apes people are either gonna love em' or hate em' but oh well. I am going for a particular look and these fit better then the apes. I think I will pay a bit for them on long runs but I tend to stay around town more then I run for hours and my back sucks so bad anyway that what is a little more punishment?
