Default Fuel choices

I've heard from some Harley friends that I must run Premium fuel in my Ultra Classic. I can't finding anything in writing to either confirm or deny this. Does it matter?

If it's a performance concern, then use whatever the bike runs best on. If it's pinging & carrying on with lower octane, then go to the next higher octane. When I first got my bike I ran 91 and after talking with a few buddies, I started using the 94. I honestly don't see a huge difference in the way the bike runs, but still always use Sunoco Premium - maybe it's more psychological than anything else... or maybe not?? Regardless, IMO a couple of extra dollars on a tank of premium gas isn't a big deal.

you didn't get an owner's manual?

91 is what is recommended. and has been for at least a decade.

It is in "writing", right in the owner's manual.
