Need help with CD player
I am making the playlist in Itunes, copying the files into a separate folder for making the dics, striping the ID3 tags and then using MP3 gain and burning. First one is in the drive now and I will test it when done. HOPEFULLY your method works great. Then I can burn about 6 disks to keep in the bike when I dont have my gps on the bars around town as I normally use that so I dont have to deal with this stuff.

That info was the ID tags you stripped, they are not separate files but part of the mp3 file itself
the H-K radio shouldn't have a problem with the ID tags, mine displays the info when I play mp3 discs. Mine does have problems skipping songs on some discs if I don't burn as a data disc

After reading through the threads and comments by others I realized that the art work was culprit. I used WMP to remove the art work but still had the same problem with some MP3 files. After a lot of research I found a little program that removes all the art work and other bs that is not needed, an MP3 Tag Remover called ID3KILL. I downloaded it and ran it (very simple to use) and it removed all those unwanted files. I also downloaded MP3Gain and ran it on the MP3 files so I could make the volume levels the same. Burned another CD with WMP and I'm now good to go. NOTE, make sure WMP is set to not "Retrieve additional information from the internet" before burning, this can be found under the Library Options....
Twin Cam - I have a GPS that has a built in mp3 player as well. I use that on trips, but dont like to use it just riding around town. Takes too long to boot up, get prepped all that good stuff. I want discs so that I can keep one in the player and listen when I want to jump on short trips anywhere.

I know it's an issue with the ID3 Tags, so here goes...
I used a different ID3 Tag Remover to nuke all possible tags. When I do that, I get the filename displayed on the top line and temporarily on the bottom line of the screen AFTER the HK player indicated the current track number I am on. That's kind of OK and has been what I've been living with for a year.
I read up about artwork and figured I would clean all the ID3 tags but re-populate just the Title and Artist to get the Title on the top display line and the Artist temporarily on the bottom display line AFTER the HK player indicated the current track number. Here's what I have...
TITLE TAG: And We Danced
ARTIST TAG: Hooters
FILENAME: Hooters - And We Danced.mp3
Everything else is nuked from an ID3 Tag perspective. Then I get this on the display AFTER the track number...
TOP: ***A
BOTTOM: ***H
I have been experimenting and just cannot get this clean and correct for what I want.
Bohica48 - You seem to have the the best knowledge on the whole ID3 tag vs. HK CD/MP3 display issue that I have read so far, so this is for you (and anyone else that can answer this):
What ID3 tag format are embedded in your MP3s?
What tags do you keep to display Title and Artist?
What tags must be cleaned up or removed?
As an aside: I am using MP3TAG v2.54
**Thanks in advance for any assistance here**
