Talked to Cary myself and I have to say a great guy to deal with and he will keep us to date. Thought I would also post some info he sent me in the following reply.
Hi Al, this is an insert I have developed to help relieve tuning issues. This can get blown out of proportion very easily. Not even one percent of our worldwide sales on our FLH series mufflers have a problem, but I care about all of our customers(and I love a good challenge). There are numerous problems that can occur with tuning (lack of knowledge, cams , timing, throttle position , engine combination etc.) but the common element seems to be HD SE race tuner involvement. Great unit but it is only as good as the operator. We are currently in production of inserts that we can retrofit here, and I have made some customer retrofit kits that I am still testing but I am concerned about having some one else besides CFR do this install for a variety of reasons. Pricing will be set soon. Regards,Cary.

Yep, that sounds like Cary. He is a great guy. I to agree with him that it can be a tuning issue and I know alot of tuners do NOT like the newer SE tuners (like mine, SEST). I've talked to him extensively about tuners as well. I'm almost certain that I will be going with a tuner that can "auto" tune...not sure which one yet.
It looks like you will have to send your pipes back to him for the retrofit kit to be installed. I wasn't sure how he was going to do it.
I'm running the power commander and a canned map done by fuel moto, but no motor mods other than stage 1 kit. Rode all weekend and no issues at all and these things sound awesome, of course if I could pick up some low end back with some work on the cones from Cary I would be fine with that as well, but my slight low end drop came from the dresser duals not the CFR's.
We were sitting at the Country Store in Shady Valley the other day and we heard some bikes coming in, this one bike had a sound like no other, low loud rumble, awesome sound and I told my buddy I bet those are CFR's, I walked ovet to the bike and sure enough they were, If I didn't have what I already have they would be on mine, probably the best sounding muffler I've ever heard.
I'd be interested in a set of CFR'S with the new inserts. I've looked but am unable to find a link to contact CFR directly. anyone have any contact info? nothing I've found on the internet so far. Thanks, Rick
+1 with Heavymetalthunder. I would be interested in a set of CFR'S with the new inserts as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you-Larry
Hey Big Twi$t ! Where can I buy these slip-ons for a good price? The CFR website is not working? I have a 09 CVO Ultra and it runs real hot. It also has a ThunderMax on board.
Thanks,
HoofHD
