Default Installing Center Stand

I'm installing a center stand and the instructions call for using loctite red, my question is if the Loctite red is really neccessary or if Blue will be enough? Just in case I want to remove the stand in the future...

I used blue and I am glad I did, when I traded bikes, I took it off and sold to a friend. Blue locktite should be ample. I kept an eye on it just in case when washing,etc..

I use red on a lot of things, you can still get it off usually not a problem but when I have had a problem I just take the soldering iron to the bolt/nut to heat it up and it will come off with ease. Blue should be fine also.

Personally I'd use red; as others have said you can get the bolts out if you need to. I've had bolts I've used blue loosen up over time.

Thanks for the replies, it seems like I can use the red or blue and still get stand off with some degree of effort if need be.

The fastener type should factor in the decision as well. If it is a Torx or Phillips don't use the red. You might strip the head struggling to break it free. Red on a hex bolt should be fine but personally I'd go with a good size dollop of blue.

if you use the proper quality tools getting the fasteners that have loctite on is not a problem (red or blue)

Just took mine off to sell. If it had red it would not come off. I had to cut one of the screws off do to the fact the Allen head was stripped.

People tend to strip this fastener type more than any other. sometimes its using the wrong size or because you aren't holding the tool firmly enough.
