Suomy D20 Modular Helmet review
This helmet rocks. I bought the Matte Black and light and dark smoke visors. The fit and finish is plush on this lid as all Suomys are, i've owned several full face Vandal Cult and Spec 1R solids. For the time being i did not order any of the communication accesories so i cannot comment on that.
The quick release chin strap works like a charm. It surely beats the old feed through the loop and snap method. The chin flip up/down mechanism unlatches and latches by a push handle at the chin and is smooth. The fighter pilot dark smoke shade operates by a slider on the top of the lid and is smooth. Changing out the visor is simple and takes a few minutes. When i got it i immediately put in the dark smoke visor as the sun is violent here in sunny so-cal. The dark smoke is a little too much for night riding however i think the light smoke will be perfect for night.
I put on mostly highway miles yesterday around 70mph. Wind noise wasnt bad at all and most important no ear ringing after the rides. I will update the thread after i put some more serious hours/mileage rides.
The helmet didnt break the bank either. Cheapest i found was through speedaddictcycles here in so-cal. Found them on ebay but purchased through their web page. I called up the owner (Chad) with questions. He had my products shipped out within a day and i recieved them the next day. Excellent customer service.
