Default 2010 FLHTK Issue

Saturday morning took off for a ride a bike started flashing in the speedo...BUS ER and the speedometer and tach would fall to zero and then go back to normal function. Engine, Battery, and Key FOB lights would come on but the cruise and ABS lights were sporadic in their operation and it flashed a code on the radio but it did not function correctly either....Bike ran fine! Weird?? I left the group I was with and went straight to the dealer...they trouble shooted for 2 hours(until closing time) and said leave it and we will get to it Monday. Haven't heard from them yet today but will post the results after we get if fixed. They are thinking it might be ABS and bearing related!

More Later! At 13,500 miles on bike now!

These are the symptoms I had yesterday. For ME it ended up being water in the connections/in the fairing. They dried all of the connections, put it back together and it seems to be fixed (I rode about 400 miles home without ANY issues).

Have them check for water in the wiring harness. The tech showed me the water in the black corrugated plastic tube that is used to keep the wires together. When he disconnected the connector and pointed the connector to the floor, a LOT of water came out. When I was heading from West Virginia into Kentucky, it was raining very hard so I know what the source of the water was.

This may not help.....and I agree that this was a really strange occurance (I ALSO saw the clock reset to 12:05.....then it went BACKWARD until it reached 12:00....didn't press this issue because it was totally bizarre).

Yes, water in the fairing can cause all kinds of havoc. Check to see if your windshield has a nice snug fit to the inner and outer fairing. Good luck! Hope it's an easy fix and you hear back from them soon.

They worked on it all day, the lead mechanic (shop manager) is doing his best! Going through every connection but haven't found the culprit yet! He said it was dry inside the fairing! He was very frustrated as there are diagnostic codes shooting from front to back on the bike! He did rule out it being an ABS bearing issue.....I'll continue to post if and when we figure it out!

Thanks Guys! By the way...I HATE ELECTRICAL ISSUES!!!!

Have cleared the ECM and PCV of being the trouble makers! Today the shop manager worked with Harley and they hooked it to the Computer and Harley engineers took control. Hope to have a resolution by tomorrow! THIS SUCKS!

Shop manager called me Saturday morning a said he thought they had isolated the problem! It is in one of the pin connections! (not sure which one but will find out exactly when face to face with tech)
They wanted to keep the bike to ride it and put it through the paces before giving it a clean bill of health. Should get it back Thursday if all goes well!
I'll post again when I know more!

I love the Limited but it sorta makes me want my trusty Old 2002 Road King Classic back...

Hopefully it will be fixed without further issue...going to try and coax at least some extra electrical warranty out of Harley....I have a Great Dealer but we will see!
